At Medical World Polyclinic — Al-Taawun Branch we use the Splendor X device, the world’s first laser to combine two wavelengths in a single pulse through Blend X technology. In practice, this means faster sessions, greater safety on dark and tan skin, and even coverage with no missed areas. The service is available for women and men in separate sections.

Technology

Square spot and simultaneous cooling

The difference between one device and another shows in two details that clients actually feel: the shape of the spot — a square spot covers the area in adjacent rows with no gaps and no overlap, which shortens the session and prevents missed patches; and simultaneous cooling, which cools the skin at the very moment the pulse arrives, so the sensation of heat is reduced.

  • Shorter sessions on large areas
  • Even coverage with no missed areas
  • Less pain thanks to dual cooling
  • Settings adjusted to your skin tone and hair thickness

Why Splendor X specifically?

Most clinics in Riyadh work with a single-wavelength device, so they have to choose between effectiveness on coarse hair and safety on dark skin. Splendor X combines both in a single pulse, and this is the real difference clients feel in the number of sessions and how long they take.

  • Two wavelengths togetherAlexandrite 755 nm + Nd:YAG 1064 nm in a single pulse (Blend X technology).
  • Square spotAdjacent coverage with no gaps and no overlap — unlike a round spot.
  • Dual coolingSimultaneous skin cooling that reduces pain and protects the surface layer.
  • All skin typesIncluding tan and dark skin, safely — the most challenging cases.
  • Higher speedFull-body coverage in less time compared with single-wavelength devices.
  • Fine and coarse hairWorks on light, fine (vellus) hair as well as thick hair.
An honest note: No laser device gives a final result in a single session, whatever its type. The number of sessions depends on your skin tone, hair thickness, the area and your hormonal status — and this is what the specialist determines in the first session.

Laser sessions for women

A separate women’s section at Medical World Polyclinic — Al-Taawun Branch, Riyadh, supervised by female specialists, covering every requested area — from a single area to the full body, as a single session or in packages of three and five sessions:

  • One area — underarms, bikini or face
  • Two areas of your choice
  • Three areas
  • Mini body
  • Full body — the entire body
  • Packages of 3 and 5 sessions

Laser sessions for men

Separate section

A fully separate men’s section

The men’s section at Medical World Polyclinic — Al-Taawun Branch has its own entrance, rooms and staff, separate from the women’s section, and works with the same Splendor X device to the same standards. Men most often ask for large areas — the back, chest and abdomen — and these are exactly the areas whose session time the device shortens.

  • Complete privacy and separate appointments
  • Coarse, dense hair is within the device’s capability
  • Large areas in less time
  • Packages of 1, 3 and 5 sessions
  • One area — face or underarms
  • Boxer area
  • One large area — back, chest or abdomen
  • Two areas — chest with abdomen
  • Mini body
  • Full body — the entire body
We don’t do touch-up sessions at all. One session with Splendor X achieves what single-wavelength devices need two to three sessions to achieve — so you don’t need extra sessions to cover missed areas.

How to prepare for your laser session

Before the session
  • Shave the area with a razor the day before the session — no plucking, waxing or sugaring
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for two weeks before the session
  • Stop lightening and exfoliating creams 3–5 days before
  • Come without make-up or deodorant on the area
After the session
  • Mild redness and warmth for a few hours is normal
  • Cold compresses and a gentle moisturizer if needed
  • Avoid saunas, steam and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours
  • Daily sunscreen on exposed areas
Stick to the intervals

Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only affects hair in its growth phase. Missing an appointment lengthens the plan and wastes the effect of the previous session.

Don’t pluck between sessions

Shaving with a razor is allowed and required, but plucking and waxing remove the root that the laser targets, so the session is wasted.

When is a laser session not done?

  • During pregnancy — postponed until after delivery
  • Inflammation, a wound or active sunburn in the area
  • Current use of Roaccutane, or use within the previous six months
  • An active skin infection or herpes at the treatment site
  • Medications that increase the skin’s sensitivity to light — tell the specialist about every medication
  • A tattoo in the area — its spot is avoided
There is no evidence that laser harms the unborn baby, but postponing during pregnancy is the accepted precautionary practice — especially as hormonal changes make the result unstable anyway.

Frequently asked questions about laser and the Splendor X device

What is the Splendor X device?

A laser hair removal device that combines two wavelengths — Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm — in a single pulse through Blend X technology, and works with a square-shaped spot and dual cooling. It is the device used at the Laser Clinic of Medical World Polyclinic — Al-Taawun Branch, Riyadh.

What are the advantages of the Splendor X?

Combining two wavelengths in a single pulse, a square spot that covers the area with no gaps, dual cooling that reduces pain, safety on all skin types including dark skin, and higher speed in covering the full body.

Is the Splendor X suitable for tan and dark skin?

Yes. The Nd:YAG 1064 nm wavelength is the most suitable option for dark skin, and this is one of the main reasons this device was chosen.

Which is better: the Gentle device or Splendor?

Both are approved medical devices. The practical difference is that Splendor X fires both wavelengths together in a single pulse with a square spot, while other devices work with one wavelength per pulse and a round spot. The final result also depends on the operator’s experience and the session settings, not on the device alone.

Does the Splendor X touch the skin?

Yes. The device head touches the skin surface during the session, with simultaneous cooling, which helps reduce the sensation of heat and protect the surface layer.

Are laser sessions painful?

The sensation is like a quick, warm prick, and it is greatly reduced by simultaneous cooling. Sensitive areas feel it more than others, and the device settings can be adjusted to your tolerance.

How many laser sessions will I need?

The number varies with skin tone, hair thickness, the area and hormonal status, and it is determined precisely after the assessment in the first session. What sets the Splendor X apart is that one session on it achieves what single-wavelength devices need two to three sessions to achieve, so the total number needed is lower.

How long should there be between sessions?

Usually four to six weeks for body areas, and it may be shorter for the face. Sticking to the interval is a key part of the plan’s success, because hair grows in cycles.

Does laser remove hair permanently?

Laser greatly reduces hair density and makes what remains finer and lighter, but medically it is not described as one hundred percent permanent removal — and you may need occasional maintenance sessions.

Are laser sessions dangerous during pregnancy?

There is no evidence of direct harm to the unborn baby, but the precautionary practice is to postpone sessions until after delivery, especially as hormonal changes during pregnancy make the result unstable.

Does laser affect people with epilepsy?

The flash of light may act as a trigger for a small number of people with photosensitive epilepsy. Tell the specialist about your condition and your medications before the session, so the right precautions can be taken or your doctor’s opinion requested.

Should I shave or pluck before the session?

Shave with a razor the day before the session. Plucking, waxing and sugaring are not allowed, because they remove the hair root — the target the laser works on.

Can laser be done on the face?

Yes. The face is one of the areas available in both the women’s and men’s sections, and the device settings are adjusted to suit the sensitivity of facial skin.

Do the packages include touch-up sessions?

There are no touch-up sessions at our clinics, and no need for them. The square spot covers the area in adjacent rows with no gaps, and one session achieves what other devices need two to three sessions to achieve.

What is the difference between mini body and full body?

Full body covers the entire body, while mini body covers a smaller set of specific areas. The coordinator explains the areas included in each package before you book.

Is there a separate section for women?

Yes. The women’s section at Medical World Polyclinic — Al-Taawun Branch is separate and supervised by female specialists, and the men’s section is completely separate from it.
